SETTLEMENT APPROVED!
On June 14, 2010, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice certified the class action against the Directors of FMFS and approved the Settlement Agreement reached by the parties. The Settlement Agreement allows all Factorcorp Debenture holders who purchased the Debentures from agents of FMFS to obtain Compensation of roughly half of their outstanding investment in Factorcorp, unless they fall within the group of Excluded Class Members.

Harmonized Sales Tax
The province of Ontario will harmonize the existing 8% provincial sales tax (PST) with the 5% federal goods and services tax (GST) effective July 1, 2010. The Ontario harmonized sales tax (HST) will be amalgamating the existing PST and GST, for a combined rate of 13%.
Currently, legal fees and disbursements are only subject to the 5% GST. However, effective July 1, 2010 all legal fees and disbursements will be subject to the full 13% HST.

Motion for Certification and Settlement Approval proceeding on June 14th, 2010!
The parties have reached a proposed settlement agreement designed to end all litigation relating to investments in Factorcorp debentures by those that purchased the debentures from agents of FMFS.
A motion seeking certification of the claim against the Directors of FMFS and Court Approval of the Settlement will be heard by the Court on June 14th, 2010.

W5 Investigation into Mirapex, aired by CTV on April 24, 2010
On Saturday, April 24, 2010, CTV's investigative news program W5, aired a special investigation into the drug Mirapex and it's alleged connection to compulsive behaviour, including pathological gambling and hypersexuality. Two class members of the Mirapex class action started by Thomson, Rogers, Anna Ringas from Ontario and, Raymond Harrison, from British Columbia, were profiled in this Mirapex special investigation.

Thomson, Rogers investigating civil claims regarding alleged sexual abuse by Toronto anesthesiologist
On March 11, 2010, a Toronto anaesthesiologist was charged by the Toronto Police after three women allegedly told Police they were sexually assaulted at North York General Hospital.
Thomson, Rogers has been retained by one of the complainants to pursue potential civil claims for damages relating to this matter.
