As we respond to the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus), the safety of our extended community is of utmost importance and we are continuously and carefully monitoring recommendations from the Ontario Ministry of Health and other local authorities. We have closed our offices to the public but remain open as our lawyers and staff work remotely.
Thomson Rogers’ lawyers are operating as they would in the office. We continue to work existing files and take on new clients. If you are in the hospital, we have lawyers available to meet with you. We can be reached by phone (1-888-223-0448), email or through our on-line consultation form.
Our preexisting crisis contingency plan is based on our experience with SARS and MERS has been tailored to address this particular situation. As this situation evolves, we are committed to serving the best interests of our clients and community at every step. We wish to be clear, as far as we are aware, no one from Thomson Rogers has tested positive for COVID-19.
We are closely monitoring what is happening with the Ontario courts. All family and civil matters scheduled to be heard on or after Tuesday, March 17, 2020 are adjourned including telephone and video conference appearances scheduled prior to March 17, 2020 unless the presiding judicial officer directs otherwise a rescheduling plan will be announced in the near future. Access to the Courts will be extremely limited. A copy of the complete Notice from the Courts can be found at the following link: https://www.ontariocourts.ca/scj/covid-19-suspension-fam/
If you are a current client and have questions about your matter, please email your lawyer directly. If you are looking for a lawyer, we are happy to discuss your potential case. We are committed to serving you during this period of uncertainty.
