Mike’s advocacy work at Thomson, Rogers is part of our team approach to the quality, timely and cost effective advancement of our client’s claims. Mike is a senior member of the Leonard Kunka Personal Injury Group at Thomson, Rogers.
Mike is licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada to deliver legal services in the Province of Ontario. As a licensed Paralegal, Mike advocates for the legal rights of clients before various Provincial and Federal Tribunals, lower courts and directly with insurers and their legal representatives.
Mike has over 25 years of Paralegal / Law Clerk experience in the investigation, development and presentation of serious and catastrophic plaintiff and defence personal injury claims, including class actions. His experience includes motor vehicle collisions, medical malpractice, product liability and policy contract disputes. Mike’s abilities as an investigator have lead to him giving evidence at trial on several occasions.
Mike joined Thomson, Rogers in 2005 to focus on the advancement of serious and catastrophic plaintiff personal injury claims. Mike has co-chaired and spoken before the Law Society of Upper Canada Continuing Legal Education Program. His legal career has taken him from the litigation department of Bassel, Sullivan & Leake (1979 to 1992) to its successor firm, Bennett Best Burn LLP (1992 to 2005).
Mike is a Past Commodore of the Whitby Yacht Club and a member of the Oshawa Ski Club.
