Nick Kostiw graduated from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law in 2021.
Prior to law school, Nick graduated with distinction from the University of Western Ontario, completing an Honors Double Major in History and Criminology. In that span he was the recipient of multiple achievement-based awards and scholarships including the History Academic Award, dedicated to the graduating student with the highest average in their discipline.
In law school, as part of Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Law Project, Nick served as a legal aid caseworker, where he worked on uncontested divorce files from beginning to end. He also regularly attended the Kingston Family Court where he assisted duty counsel.
Before articling at Thomson Rogers, Nick spent his second-year summer as a family law research assistant, where he conducted an analysis of a data set of cases on high conflict family separations.
In his spare time, Nick is an avid sports fan. While at Queen’s, he served as a play-by-play commentator for the Queen’s Golden Gael’s Hockey Team on an on-call basis. He is also the host of his own hockey podcast.
