Zac is a graduate of Queen’s University’s Faculty of Law. Prior to law school, he studied commerce at Queen’s University and was selected as one of five students for Queen’s inaugural B.Com/JD dual degree class.
Throughout law school, Zac balanced academics with numerous extracurricular and work experiences. For over two years, he managed a for-profit, student-run consultancy that provided advisory services to local businesses, government agencies and not-for-profits in Kingston and surrounding areas. He also worked as a teaching assistant for multiple introductory law courses offered by both the Faculty of Commerce and the Faculty of Arts & Science. In addition, he took on leadership roles for multiple student clubs, serving as Co-President of the Corporate Law Club, and Vice President of the Sports and Entertainment Law Society.
During law school, Zac developed a keen interest in civil litigation and focused his electives on specialized civil litigation courses such as Insurance Law, Medical Malpractice, Trial Advocacy and Advanced Torts. He also participated in a family law placement program under the supervision of Professor Nicholas Bala in which he had the opportunity to shadow a local family law firm and observe motions in both the Ontario Family Court in Kingston and the Superior Court of Justice in Belleville.
Zac is a huge Toronto sports fan and rarely misses a Leafs or Raptors game. He also enjoys playing recreational hockey, tennis, golf and floorball.
