2011 Rotary Mobility Cup

August 12, 2011

The Disabled Sailing Association of Ontario (DSAO) will again be participating in the internationally acclaimed Rotary Mobility Cup. This year the event is being co-hosted at Royal Hamilton Yacht Club and the Burlington Sailing & Boating Club on August 29 – September 2, 2011. DSAO is one of Thomson Rogers’ favourite charities. Many of our past and present clients are members of the organization. One of which is Danny McCoy who is the founder of the Toronto Chapter.

Danny has been a long time advocate and promoter of “health and wellness” within the disabled community. The sailing program is located at the foot of Queen’s Quay. It provides services to children and adults who suffer diverse forms of disabilities ranging from cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, traumatic spinal cord injury, brain injury, etc. Sailing promotes health and wellness and is a great equalizer.

As a sponsor of the event, Thomson Rogers will be providing: all of the t-shirts for the volunteers, executivewear for the Mobility Cup Committee, and the competitors’ racing shirts. We have also sponsored 2 racers – Kevin Rogers (Silver Fleet) and Satwant Guron (Guddi)(Gold Fleet) who will be the Team T.R. during the regatta.
