Thomson Rogers Lawyer Gets Top Award from Ontario Bar Association
This year‘s recipient of the Ontario Bar Association Award of Excellence in Municipal Law is Roger Beaman. This is a great honour for Roger, our Municipal Group and for the firm.
On December 31, 2017, Roger retired from Thomson Rogers Lawyers after more than four decades of practising law, including 25 as head of the firm’s Municipal Law section. During his long career, Roger focused on planning cases before the Ontario Municipal Board and the Courts, represented numerous developers and municipalities and public authorities and was named one of the top lawyers in Canada in the Property Development category by LEXPERT/American Lawyers Guide.
This award recognizes outstanding achievements in leadership in municipal law and the sharing of knowledge, experience and skill throughout the bar. Roger has been instrumental in helping to shape the land use policies throughout Ontario. He was deeply involved in the freezing of the Oak Ridges Moraine and took part in many cases involving the protection of important environmental areas such as the Niagara Escarpment.
Roger will be honoured at an award dinner on Tuesday, June 20, 2018, at the Royal Canadian Military Institute – 426 University Ave, Toronto, ON. Thomson Rogers partners Stephen D’agostino, Jeff Wilker, Al Burton and David Germain will be in attendance at the event.
