On October 20, 2020, Thomson Rogers personal injury lawyer Stephen Birman was featured in a CBC article titled “Ontario to provide COVID-19 liability protection to businesses, workers and some organizations” discussing the Government of Ontario’s recent legislation.
Birman said families involved in legal actions against long-term care facilities are “appalled” by the legislation.
“The government didn’t wait for the LTC Commission findings before rushing to protect the operators,” Birman told CBC News. “Rest assured, the class claims…which are focused on the most egregious home operators and violations of care, will continue.”
